to be king!

actually i just can’t wait for lizzy’s first dance recital. those little girls have been working on their dance moves. from what it looks like, they’re doing a little tap number to “I JUST CAN’T WAIT TO BE KING” from the disney movie the lion king…

it’s going to be so stinking cute.

not sure if there’s going to be a ballet piece as well, it might be a little too much for the 3 year olds to try and remember all those steps! she still needs to get skipping down so that her chasees are better. those need some more work! but she tries so hard every time and their teacher is so patient with each little girl 😉

the best part is she’s really liking her dance classes and enjoys going! lately she’s been dancing around the house “practicing her moves” too cute!

now mommy just needs to practice on doing a nice tight bun so her hair will stay in place!!

feeling uncertain…

it’s not “one of my favorite things” if i were to be singing about something…

so i’ve ordered the costumes for halloween -well at least la petite’s and josh’s costumes. i think i need to get mine made to order… but we’re going to look AWESOME!

so last week was crazy… had to get 2 new tires and my alignment fixed on thursday! spent part of the morning at the body shop while my car was getting fixed. lizzy was really good while we were waiting, after about an hour and a half, daddy came to rescue us, with cheese burgers in hand!!  woo hoo!

we’re getting our ideas together for christmas gifts for EP… i think we’ve decided on a new princess dress, and a guitar. keeping it simple this year- very simple.

over the weekend josh and i had a nice date night. the new babysitter situation has been working out, and we even have a backup babysitter that can do day time hours if ever needed.

we also managed to go to the park this weekend. EP is getting so brave on the jungle gyms… must be all those gymnastics classes… speaking of we have some new instructors and lizzy is really showing some progress and saying, “i can do it on my own.” she’s growing up so fast! she’s already starting to grow out of some of the 3T stuff, although i think she has my itybitty waist.

i think i’ll make jen burger helper tonight…

there are shows on tv that i get roped into.

TLC has a show about  hoarding. i watch these shows and am so confused. a lot of the people on these shoes have children and live in these hazardous conditions, and i wonder, how? why?… doesn’t anyone call DCF and report this?

i’m psychologically not wired in that way.

many of them seem to collect horses figurines, old vhs tapes, bags of trash filled with garbage and decomposing food and a lot of these people have bathrooms and kitchens that “don’t work”.

again i wonder to myself… who wants to live in a house with garbage and flies and stuff crammed in every corner, piled high to the ceiling and nowhere to sleep.

i’m not martha stewart, and sure my home is a little dusty… i have a little bit of clutter… but how does it come to all THAT?

i guess i’m just ok with throwing stuff away.

today nick jonas turns 18… EIGHTEEN I remember being 18, that was 20 years ago… this makes me think in terms of, “wow, jen you’re old enough to be his mom!” my best friend has a son that has just started as a freshman in college this week… started college… how crazy is that? we’re the same age- heck i’m 2 months older than she is… are we that old? eeeekkkkk! and i think to myself, “gosh jen, you’re old enough to technically be a mom to an 18 year old.” i can’t even fathom the idea of having an 18 year old, off at college- becoming a young adult… i know that day will come eventually… i started late in life having la petite. this is something that i’m refusing to accept. maybe i can start lying about my age… i don’t want to own 38, it doesn’t seem like a real number to me. foreign even. uggg- so in like 15 years, i’ll be writing something to the tune of, “holy crap… i have an 18 year old!” ~time goes by so fast and you don’t really even realize it, life is happening and then one day you stop for a second and things compound, and you then and only then realize and begin to see the big picture… i think i get it.

so yeah, since my last confession…

the jonas concert was canceled only to find out if we had hung around for another hour or 2 we would have been able to do the M&G after all…

the next night we went out for a family date night. lizzy was so excited to get dressed up to go to dinner with us. she loves going to restaurants- especially when there’s no kiddie menu!

since the jonas concert was a bust, the boy made it up by getting tickets to see disney on ice… we had pretty decent seats and the show was really nice. i only got teary eyed 3 times…

music moves me, what can i say.

lizzy was so excited to see the show and she was pretty much mesmerized with it.

saturday we headed out to grab lunch, later that night i ended up waking up sick, and was pretty much a lump on sunday. so daddy and la petite went to the hood park (never again) and then ended up back home and played in the yard before the storm.

this week has been pretty good. been busy getting stuff organized.

now EP has been a little sick so we missed dance class and have been cuddeling on the sofa with our new “JONAS BLANKET” when lizzy says it it sounds like oprah — haa haa haa…

this little girl just cracks me up!

lizzy and i had front row tickets to see the jonas brothers last night in tampa.

i managed to happen  across some awesome seats- stage left (that’s the right side where kevin usually plays) and we had FRONT ROW. our tickets also got us in for the sound check, swag bag and then VIP service for food and drinks and stuff… oh yeah and an awesome parking spot…

so we got the the venue, parked- got to the gate and had to wait to get our wrist bands for the sound check since they didn’t come in our FEDEX package. luckily the guy that worked on the tour- who had sold us our tickets was there so we got in and got our bags without any issues…

we got to see everyone at the sound check… it was super awesome. we met some great girls that gave us meet and greet bands for lizzy to meet the jonas brothers so it was looking like a little miracle of a day…. lizzy was so excited, because she was going to actually meet them in person!!

during the “question asking portion” of the JB soundcheck- a girl asked about their religion and then— the heavens opened up… literally. it just started pouring rain. our seats and the entire orchestra section were in 20-30 inches of standing water. we waited around for a couple of hours only to be told the show was cancelled and not to be rescheduled…

during all the chaos we had gotten seperated from our new friends- and so- NO MEET AND GREET ;( the venue was so bad at relaying info so we missed the M&G all together- some of our friends texted me later  to say they hung around and ended up talking to the guys for a few minutes…

so close and yet so far away.

lizzy was a trooper, and she now has a jonas snuggle blanket, but she was so bummed that the concert didn’t happen…

now i need to send my tickets back in order to get a refund, i’ll be really cranky if i send the tickets back and then they reschedule….

oh and my pictures of my seats under water and of lizzy at sound check made it onto TBO.com she looked so cute!
