I’ve been painting a bit more lately.
There’s more than a few canvases that remain blank.
I’ve been to the store for supplies.
There’s more than enough paint to put upon those canvases.
I should be painting right now…
Currently I’ve been painting a lot of water, seascapes, and beach scenery.

After being back to the east coast 3 times in the past few months, I really do miss it.
We even somehow landed in Tampa for a moment, just for a plane change.
…there’s something about the east coast. The seagulls, salt in the air, the sounds of the waves.
It’s relaxing, feels like home.
I’ve also been working on my clouds. I do like painting happy little clouds. They’re getting a bit better. Looking more like clouds should look. I even decided to go out of the box and created a sky-scape titled, “in the clouds” after a few plane rides, used as inspiration. I like looking down at the landscape, for the patterns that the land makes. Most of the patterns are man-made. A bird’s eye view of how we shape the world.
Not my usual style, a bit more modern, abstract, and structured.

Trees are still my favorite thing to paint.
However, I’ve not been painting many trees as of late.
No trees to see here…
Well I suppose if you were to look at the above photo, you would see the trees at the foreground. That was my intention, clouds and trees.
Side-quest:
is this how “flat-earthers” think the world looks like?
That we live on something much like a board game?
that there, is a rabbit hole.
back to the post.
I’ve recently been working on a table scape with oranges. It’s nowhere near completed, but is a work in progress. I’m happy with part of my painting, but the bowl is wonky, and my orange slices need more work. Although I like the misshaped bowl, and that the painting and scale aren’t “prefect” because I’m not striving for perfection, just a representation.
It’s a process.
It’s primitive.

At some point I’ll most likely take this off the wall and rework the painting. I really love how the background worked out. I think I’m trying to be too literal when I’m shooing for more of an impressionist style.
Also I want to add some blueberries to the plate with the orange slices.
Maybe the next painting will be a bit messier.
much like life. 🙂
