HEY THERE, REMEMBER ME?
2025 was quite a year, a lot of things happened, some things ended and a few new ideas have been percolating. To be honest, I didn’t accomplish as much as I would have liked, and had a few minor setbacks, however I just took time to reflect and reminded myself that I can’t control things that are out of my hands. I know the universe is looking out for me.
So 2025, where did it go. Time flew by so quickly.
Last January we had begun to get things back in order after saying goodbye to our exchange student. That was a bittersweet situation. At times I felt like I was caught in the plot of 2 movies: the Truman Show and Liar Liar. As much as I like Jim Carey’s movies, I would have rather been a cast member of Dumb and Dumber or the Number 23… But it was a lesson in humanity a test of patience and in true fashion, family is always first.
Throughout February, March, and April we celebrated with a couple of birthdays, a family trip and days filled with final dance competitions for LP. Towards the end of April, we had accomplished ushering the kiddo into adulthood. Again, time flies by.
May and June were big months. LP graduated from high school and we welcomed an addition to the family. The house just needed a second Pug, cue Bianca! CHIP got the sis-fur he never knew he ever wanted. Thankfully they have been getting along really well.
Summer was a blur. July was oddly quiet.
The kiddo went on her first vacation without us. Not exactly the best time, but a life lesson learned for her. Thankfully LP was home just in time for my birthday. We survived a minor car accident and ushered in more heat during August.
Summertime always makes me want to be back in Florida, or somewhere coastal. Not to tan, but for the salt in the air, and sand between my toes, seagulls flying overhead – caw caw cawing in the sky.
September and October brought slightly cooler weather. No travel for us. LP started college and that was our main focus. I stated to consider getting back to music and painting. Which has been interesting. I’m still not ready to release anything out into the universe just yet.
I’m the monkey wrench, 100%.
November and December, colder weather, and mostly quiet.
It’s interesting, having an adult “child” who is self sufficient and on their own path. Of course it’s also great to spend time with her and see that she is learning how to navigate the world now that she’s not a kid anymore.
Christmas was nice, we then had company for a week into the new year…
and well the new year is officially here and this post is officially done!
