So many people are weighing in after yesterday’s “awkward kiss” and other moments between President Donald Trump and Fist Lady Melania.
As a wife, I wanted to give my 2 cents on 3 things I noticed.
1- Melania’s navy hat: I think she’s super classy, and is serving Jackie O vibes 100% – I really do like her style. Her personality seems reserved and serene most of the time, but her smile is genuine and she seems really at ease around her husband, who happens to be the President of the United States of America. Now the hat, I think maybe she chose the hat specifically because with all the lights and flashing cameras, it helped to shield her eyes. I know as I’ve gotten a bit older, brighter lights cause a bit of eye strain, and sometimes watery eyes. So maybe her hat was for both function AND fashion.
2. – Holding hands: From what I’ve noticed, D&M hold hands when then can. But let’s be honest, it’s hard to hold hands with someone who needs to constantly “break free” in order to shake people hands, as is customary in greetings, especially in the business of politics. So do they need to be interlocked and holding each other’s hands 27/4 for all to see? No, I don’t think so. We don’t see how they are together when the camera’s are off and when they are at home. I’d like to think they have a normal relationship, after all they’ve been together for a while now, they’re past the honeymoon phase of their marriage.
3. – The AWKWARD kiss: OK everyone has been scrutinizing the awkward kiss that happened during the January 20, 2025 Presidential Inauguration. Let me share a different perspective. I didn’t think the “air kiss” was awkward at all. President Trump and Melania’s kiss seemed appropriate given the circumstance. This was a simple kiss, no lipstick was smudged and no lip print was transferred to the president. Had there been a serious lip locking passionate rated X kiss for us all to ogle, we would have then been talking about how inappropriate that would have been for the occasion. I thought the “air kiss” was classy. I think @josh would agree, navigating glossy lips when there’s only a precious moment for a quick kiss could be a messy situation… he really doesn’t like my lip gloss all over his mouth when giving a quick peck of affection.
I’m excited to see more of the Trumps and the Vances over the next 4 years. Both the First Lady and the Second Lady will be bringing a sense of grace, style, class and love of family to the White House. I’m excited for this, I hope the rest of America is with me!
While the world is their stage, I hope that everyone watching remembers and is thankful, that we all get to have a glimpse into their very public lives. Let’s remember they also have private lives too. I myself wouldn’t want to live my life in a fishbowl for all to see and judge every waking hour of every day.

America, get ready for some changes, whatever they may be.
I’m hopeful they’ll be in a positive direction...
